Get the Glow: The IT List for Glowing Skin

Who doesn’t want glowing skin? Seriously name one person who would say that they’d prefer dry dull looking skin. There are so many options, procedures and potions to get glowing skin along with eating right. I am am avid believer that you are what you eat, but what if you’re diligent in eating the right things, drinking tons of water and popping every supplement that promises the best skin? Sometimes no matter what I do internally, my skin skin still looks dull and needs an extra boost externally. That’s where a good skin care regimen comes into play in order to get the glow.

Glowing skin is typically associated with youth, and I for one love trying new products with the hopes to find the fountain of youth. But of course choosing the right product is essential because there is a fine line between glow from within and sweat and oil seeping from your pores. After a recent period of dull, hyper-pigmented and dry skin, I feel like I am finally at a point where my skin is gleaming again.  Let’s face it there’s a small population of people who are born with naturally glowing skin. If you’re not blessed with the glow gene, then you ‘ll have to fake it til you make it. Below is my It List for glowing skin.

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel–  First step in getting a glow! After a disappointing experience with Glossier’s Milky Jelly, I decided to repurchase this cleanser. Not only does this cleansing gel quickly and gently remove makeup and impurities from the skin, it’s packed with vitamins and enzymes which help improve the appearance of dull skin by gently exfoliating all of the dead skin cells away. From the very first cleanse to each one after, my skin if left feeling clean and super soft with a luminous glow.

Sunday Riley Good Genes– I use Good Genes only at night to avoid over exfoliating. Good Genes contains high potency lactic acid that exfoliates dead skin cells, and reveals smoother, fresher, younger-looking skin. With continued use, it claims to reduce hyper-pigmentation and the visible signs of aging. This reveals super glowing skin upon waking up and it has definitely helped reduce my acne scars!

Sunday Riley Artemis– I decided to try Artemis when Nic from Pixiwoo stated that she added this back to her regimen and that her skin looks so much better after adding it back.  I thought why not give it a go! Artemis is a hydroactive cellular face oil, which leaves the skin looking blemish free, toned and gives a lit-from-within glow. I use Artemis as a 2nd to last step in my morning and evening routine. It absorbs quickly is hydrating and gives me a ridiculous amount of radiance.

Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 1970– This is my holy grail for glowing skin. I have been using P50 for about 5 years now and I cannot give it up. I warn you that it’s expensive and addictive and is completely necessary in my book. Honestly, I could write a whole blog post on this, but for today’s purpose I’ll just focus on the benefits.

P50  gently exfoliates the skin, regulates excessive sebum secretion, moisturizes and helps maintain the epidermis’ acid pH. It helps keep skin clear and immediately after use your skin will be glowing. It does sting a little bit, but you get used to it after a while. I usually buy the largest bottle, but I decided to buy a smaller bottle since introducing Good Genes into my regimen and cannot use this at night, which means I need less. There are several version and the 1970 is the original formula only available in the USA. However I have also tried the new formula, and it is equally potent.  I use P50 daily after my cleanse and before serum.

Biologique Recherché Sérum Oligo-Protéines Marines– I recently added Sérum Oligo-Protéines Marines to my regimen. It was recommended to me when I went to the Biologique Recherché spa in Paris, but I regretfully didn’t buy it then (so much cheaper there!). This bio-marine serum energizes and revitalizes the skin, helping stimulate its natural functions and unifying the complexion. It’s recommended for devitalized, dull skin with imperfections. It’s also fantastic for dark circles, which is a serious problem of mine! This serum is a nice extra boost to get that glowing, lit from within skin!

how to get glowing skin

I’d love to hear how you achieve glowing skin, so please leave me a comment below and let me know your recommendations.

* please note I have always purchased my Biologique Recherché products from Vicki Morav, with the exception of buying direct from the spa in Paris. I am not affiliated with them, it’s just the site I trust. They are a real spa in NYC and they pack extra samples which I love!! Their prices are the same as the other sites. I mention this because in order to view prices, you must log in first, which is typical for any online store that sells Biologique Recherché products.
